Marta Sabariego, Ph.D. - Marta Sabariego was born and raised in Jaén, Spain. She was the first in her family to go to college. She received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and her Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Jaén. During graduate school she worked under the direction of Dr. Carmen Torres investigating genetic vulnerability to frustration. Marta received several awards that allowed her to work at the University of Cagliari, Italy and the University of California, Irvine. She moved to the US to work at the laboratories of Dr. Stefan Leutgeb and Dr. Robert Clark during her postdoc, where she investigated the neuronal mechanisms of working and long-term memory storage at the systems level. Outside of the lab, she loves traveling, watching movies, and hanging out with her family and friends.
